Take a guided horseback riding tour on our 300+ acres of private mountain trails lead by an experienced guide. After signing up and meeting the horses, we will show you the skills you need to ride through our trails. You will be accompanied by an experienced trail guide the entire time. This is a beginner friendly ride, most of the ride is walking, we go at the pace of the least experienced rider in the group. If you would like to do some more trotting, don't want to ride in a group, or are experienced, we recommend booking a private ride. The ride itself is 1 hour long and is done in a western saddle. Everything is better with goats. (It's true.) Designed specifically for the people who love being active in the outdoors and also love animals! Come hike with us and our herd of rescued goats through the beauty of the forest tucked into a remote part of the Catskills, just 2 hours from Manhattan. Our goats feel safest with humans and so they magically follow and walk with us through the woods on seasoned trails as we become part of their herd. No leashes needed! We will meander over beautiful streams, enjoying the wildlife and scenery while we forage for some of the goat's favorite treats. We stop midway for a brief rest and water break before finishing our loop, hiking approximately 2.5 miles and taking about 1.5 - 2 hrs, depending on our pace. For those who are interested, your guide can tell you the rescue story of each goat, share their quirks and different personalities and answer any question you might have about goats in general (with a few terrible goat jokes/puns thrown in for good measure.) If you are looking for a unique outdoor experience that combines your love of animals, hiking and nature, this is for you! The beautiful five cascading pools of the historic Vernooy Kill Falls provide opportunities for children and pets to enjoy humans first touch of the natural cool waters. No business or civilisation exists upstream so this water is at its purist and provides opportunities to slide or jump into pools that nature has created over hundreds of million of years. In 1664, a French Hugenot named Cornelius Vernooy immigrated from Holland and founded a mill in 1703 to satisfy the demand of local farmers. His mill complex survives, unpreserved, as a testament to the early Americans that used it before and after the war for Independence. The contrast of the 20’ tall rock wall transports us back to the time of Rip Van Winkle. With campfire rings and swimming pools available, you are free to spend as much time at the falls as you like (3 day limit for campers) or you can maybe join Scott as he walks back to the Trails End parking lot.

I believe outdoor activities can build personal resilience and love of nature. This is especially important in cities for urban populations. With this in mind, I founded Resilience Adventures, an organization that offers eco-focused kayak and paddleboard experiences on the beautiful Hudson River with the Manhattan Skyline as backdrop. The Manhattan Skyline Eco-Tour is a beginner-level kayak experience which includes basic instruction first and then a group (or private) kayak tour on the Hudson River. The tour travels along the Hoboken waterfront with stunning views of the Manhattan Skyline. The distance traveled depends on the skill/speed of the group. The duration of the entire experience, including instruction, is 1.5 hours after participant check-in. Note: This tour is also available as a stand-up paddleboarding experience for intermediate-level paddleboarders. Beginner paddleboarders should opt for our Learn to Paddleboard lesson instead.
